Yomiuri On-Line （読売新聞） 「こんなことならビデオを早く公開すべきだった」 　ある海保幹部は、そう悔しさをにじませる。海保が所持しているビデオ映像は、事件が起きた７日に、損傷した巡視船「よなくに」と「みずき」から撮影したもの。「よなくに」の船尾部分を、漁船が斜めに航行しながら接触した様子や「みずき」の右後方を平行に走っていた漁船が左側にかじを切って右舷の中心部付近に衝突した様子が鮮明に映っていた。海保は、この映像に漁船や巡視船の航跡データを組み合わせれば、漁船側が衝突してきた状況は立証できる、と自信を持っていた。 　海保内部では当初、積極的なビデオ公開の意見も出た。だが、中国側に配慮する官邸サイドの意向もあり、立件方針が決まった７日夜になり、一転して非公開に。
